Lead Teacher – Special Education / Therapeutic School
Location: Victoria, TX
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are a therapeutic private school serving students with autism, dyslexia, and other language-based learning differences. We are seeking a Lead Teacher who is passionate about helping neurodiverse learners succeed through structured, individualized, and research-based instruction.
This role leads a small classroom environment focused on academic growth, communication, and independence using consistent routines, data-driven instruction, and collaborative support services.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with student learning goals and IEPs
Maintain a structured, predictable classroom environment
Track student progress using data to guide instruction and interventions
Collaborate with SLP, OT, dyslexia specialists, and support staff
Implement positive behavior supports and social-emotional learning strategies
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
Participate in team meetings and professional development
Preferred Experience
Autism or special education classrooms
Dyslexia / structured literacy / Orton-Gillingham approaches
Therapeutic or private school settings

Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
Teaching experience preferred (special education or small-group instruction strongly preferred)
Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
Commitment to working with students with diverse learning needs
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
