Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 / hour
Description
Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital is a 24/7 referral and emergency veterinary center dedicated to delivering advanced, collaborative care across a wide range of specialties. Our team includes board-certified specialists, experienced emergency clinicians, and a talented technical staff united by a passion for excellence in patient care.
We are currently seeking a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) to join our growing hospital. Whether your certification is in anesthesia, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, or another NAVTA-recognized specialty, we welcome your expertise and leadership to help elevate our patient care, support team development, and drive innovation across services.
Here is What Your day May Consist of:
- Apply advanced nursing skills and critical thinking in specialty and emergency settings.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to other veterinary technicians and assistants.
- Actively participate in case management, client education, and patient advocacy.
- Ensure best practices in anesthesia, pain management, diagnostics, and nursing care, according to your specialty.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely medical records and logs.
- Assist with equipment maintenance, protocol development, and inventory within your department.
- Support ongoing technician training and continuing education efforts within the hospital.
Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in any NAVTA-recognized specialty.
- Active LVT license in North Carolina, or ability to obtain.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Passion for teaching, collaboration, and elevating the standard of care.

About Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital
Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital is a multi-specialty practice with specialists in internal medicine, surgery, and 24-hour emergency and critical care housed in a beautiful newly built 12,000-square-foot Hospital in Hickory, NC.
We have 12 exam rooms, a fully equipped rehabilitation department, and state-of-the-art equipment. We have the ability to provide superior specialty care with computed tomography, fluoroscopy, digital radiology, color-flow doppler ultrasound, I-131 therapy, minimally invasive surgical equipment, and comprehensive surgical instrumentation.
We have a team of highly skilled board-certified specialists, emergency clinicians, veterinary technicians, and support staff that believe in quality and excellence in everything we do and encourage individuals who embrace a fast-paced atmosphere with honesty and transparency.
