Description

Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching and service, some variation by academic unit.

• Is a non-tenure position providing didactic or clinical teaching support for the Accelerated BSN Program.
• Reports directly to the Accelerated BSN Program Director.
• Assists with didactic and clinical instruction and/or evaluation in a specified clinical area or in the simulation lab, as assigned.
• Provides feedback to faculty regarding student performance and learning achievements.
• Provides subject matter expertise on course content, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the academic mission of the Health Sciences Center and the School of Nursing.

Requirements

Education: 

• Master’s degree in Nursing or 50% completion for MSN.
• All degrees must be from an accredited college or university.

Experience: 

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching in baccalaureate nursing education.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience required for clinical teaching roles.

Licensure

• Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Texas or eligible to obtain a Texas RN license.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Demonstrated awareness of current issues/trends in nursing and higher education.
• Demonstrated effective verbal/written communication skills and proficiency in the English language.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
